The out of body experience (OBE) seems to offer a proof that the consciousness of the perception, which is the first step to (get) general consciousness and the first moment of the consciousness, or its first form, does not depend on a physical supporting (a body, for example).
There, one sees and hears with no eyes and ears – and that is what is extraordinary in the whole of the phenomenon called «NDE» (near-death experiences), which I prefer to identify as «experiences of consciousness in a clinical scenario of apparent death» because it is much more complete and scientific than the simple and short «NDE».
The same eventually happens in the case of mind projections – though these are not made with the same ingredients: OBEs are experienced under extreme physical conditions and seems to offer more accurate vision and hearing, when a simple mind projection is just a psychological projection done alive and in a healthy condition.
